What is an API key?

API key is security addon parameter apart from username and password in our SMS APIs. It is introduced as an authentication to protect your account and applications against unauthorized 3^rd party access.  API Key is a complex alphanumeric combination which is sent on your registered Email ID upon generation.

Why do I need API Key?

API key serves as addon security to your account and applications protecting against any misuse or fraud attempts.

Create your API key

To create an API Key follow below steps:

1. Login to your account.
2. Click on “My Account”
3. Under “Account Security” section, go to “Generate New API Key” row and click on “Get New Key” button.
4. The unique Key will be generated and sent to your registered Email Id, You will see a confirmation message in the clicked area.
5. The Email will have the secure API Key along with distinguishing label as Key name to refer it in future. You can generate multiple keys and each shall be identified by its unique label as key name as shown below.(Refresh page to view the Key identifier.
6. You can copy and pass the Key as parameter in existing SMS API as below:Parameter: key=”securedAPIKey”*Replace securedAPIKey with the key sent in your email.

Delete existing API keys

To view and delete the API Key kindly login to your account and follow below steps:

1. Click on “My Account” in dashboard.
2. Under “Account Security” section, go to “API Key List”
3. Select the radio button beside the Key you wish to delete. Each key can be identified by its key name.
4. Click on “Delete Selected Key” button.For applications that need high levels of security or for sensitive data we recommend that you replace the API key regularly.
